Hey everyone. I hate to do this, but I’ve had a brutal few weeks of work out in the real world, and am also traveling next week (work related), so Nikki is on a two week break. The next page will be up on March 14. Between now and then, I’ll be posting several pages of the Zoey comic which I started a while back.
Sorry for the delay. When Nikki returns, Pita, Talona and Kib will get some unwelcome company, while on the other side, Flitter is headed towards a major wardrobe malfunction!
And before I forget (again!), I want to give a belated shout out to Brendan for the generous donation. Thanks for the support Brendan! And thanks to everyone who is nice enough to leave a comment. I don’t usually have time to reply, but I always read and enjoy the feedback. It makes me smile, no matter how stressful my hectic, non-stop day job is. Cheers -TK
I’m not sure who’s chasing her, but I can sure see *why* they’re chasing her! I may have to get in line myself!
Hope your trip goes well – safe travels!
Although this is not Nikki, it’s interesting to see how you’re trying to breathe life into this old zombie genre.
Where can we find Zoey?
Mh, does “Zoey and the Zombies” have their own place in the web or is it just a temporary appearance here on Nikki’s place?
Well, 2 people beat me to it, I was about to ask the same.
It’s a long time ago that you were leaving some hints about “Zoey and the Zombies” and I wondered how to get more of it, but it managed to keep under my radar.
So – just so you know, I hereby declare that I’m interested!
Zoey doesn’t have her own site. A while back I got bitten by the zombie bug (so to speak) after playing Dead Island on the Xbox and then watching season one of The Walking Dead. I cranked out about a dozen Zoey pages, fully intending to launch a second comic. But as many readers rightfully pointed out, I can barely keep Nikki on schedule (the current break illustrating that point), and a second comic would most certainly put an even greater strain on my struggles to update Nikki weekly. So for now, Zoey has been shelved. The pages will continue to make guest appearance here, although the nature of the comic is a little more extreme (in violence, gore, language and sex) than Nikki. -TK
Mh, I would suggest then to add a “Zoey” section here, to fill with updates if you’re in the mood for it 🙂 .
There’s another webcomic artist, Philip M. Jackson, who does “Battle Bunnies” and “Sequential Art”. He doesn’t have a fixed schedule for both comics and just updates them if he finished a page.
I like it, and Nikki is terrific, but why hold back on the same elements in the Nikki comic that is evident in Zoey?
Granted, the gore and violence may not have as fitting a place, but the language and sex sure do! As a comic, Nikki Sprite is tantalising and sexy, but why hold back? Below the surface, there is something erotic happening, and I think we want to see it! If it is just my opinion, so be it, but I doubt it.
Here I’m fully with HSishi! No need to put another load on yourself – so you could put the Zoey pages in a certain collection (one that could get prefaced with an additional warning about the gore and higher violence – I feel safe to assume that your readers are already used to sex & language…) and whenever you need the time for whatever reason, you can put another page in there (instead of a new Nikki page) and just put up a point to it. 😀
Er… gore? As in “the joy of being eaten alive, preferably by a giantess”? That would set me back, I’m having trouble with this fetish. Or is it rather splatter with zombies being the victims – at least most of the time? That would be OK for me.
But even if worst would come to worst and I would stop reading Zoey, you would never loose me as a reader as long as Nikki pages are coming, even somewhat irregularly.
(To be honest, I was not aware that the comic pages take a lot of time to produce, I thought that the story writing is the bigger problem. Now I’m curious about how it’s done :D)
Sorry for my bad English. Hope it’s still understandable. “put up a point to it.” should read “put up a pointer to it.”
Thought I’d chime in here. I was one of the guys who suggested TK keep his focus on Nikki instead of branching off to do Zoey as well. I still feel that way (big Nikki fan – always excited to see where her story takes us). BUT, I think a separate Zoey gallery – like the BFFs – would be a great backup for those times when Mr. Doherty falls a little behind. The occasional side project only makes me appreciate TKD’s imagination and artistry more.
Oh, and I’m totally with Penkalis on the eventual “maturation” of Nikki’s tale. All the sexy bubbling under this comic has to come to the surface SOMEDAY and I think the majority of her fans are adult enough to handle it. I think Nikki and friends can manage being cute, funny, adventurous and graphically sexy at the same time.
There, that’s my two-and-a-half cents.
hey when is the zoey webcomic gonna be put online on its own site. id love to read it
