Rip? Funny, the package didn’t really look that properly closed earlier. In the first shot two pages ago it looked like the flaps were just tucked into each other with only the label keeping them in place. Then there were a couple of shots with a torn tape end sticking out. Now there’s a loud noise as Nikki opens a box that by all appearances has already been opened (and she didn’t even notice). Maybe it’s the label tearing, but it’s still pretty loud…
Yes, it’s the label and some clear tape. I didn’t really think much about the “rip” when I created the page… but I went ahead and decreased the size of the letters…
With deference to Rags, who cares about the sound effect? Of course, if it had gone “frappa-k-chow!” I might have lifted an eyebrow.
The important thing is we have another fine looking page (love the little detail bits, like Nikki’s fallen shoulder strap) moving the story ever onward.
this is really developing well. I need to find Nikki’s roommate in the real world.
