To all of Nikki’s US readers: Happy Independence Day! In honor of the Forth of July, Nikki decided to do a pose adorned with some patriotic body paint!
I’m glad to report that my computer rebuild was relatively painless, and my system is now much faster. Renders that used to take 20 minutes now only take a few. Since I was rebuilding my PC, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and also do some software upgrades that I had been putting off. Nikki is created in PoserPro, and with trepidation I upgraded to the newest version. To my surprise, it was smooth. Getting used to the new interface may take some time, but all of my content libraries appear intact. Moving from Photoshop CS5 to CS6 was my only snafu. I have a number of custom actionscripts that I use to post-process my Poser renders. For some reason, the scripts don’t give me the same results with CS6, so the art may look slightly different for a while until I have time to adjust them.
This week’s comic will be posted on Saturday. Cheers -TK

I’m feeling so… patriotic.
You make me proud to be an American!
Sorry for the double post but the year on Nikki’s book is not valid. There’s no Roman numeral D.
2012 should be MMXII.
Next time she should get Pita to help with her costume.
Though the rest is perfect.
D=500 so MDCCLXXVI=1776 makes sence to me. Nice paint job!
There is a “D” in Roman numerals, Scott…Just goggle it: http://www.greatseal.com/symbols/MDCCLXXVI.html
Welcome back! Glad to hear the rebuild was relatively painless.
Happy 4th to All and Be Safe Out There!!
So glad to hear your PC rebuild is going better than expected. Happy 4th of July!
Happy 4th of July everyone!Keep voting everyone, let’s keep Nikki climbing up!
Just noticed that there is a Nikki jigsaw puzzle in the gallery
Hope you bought the Adobe cloud subscription @ $29/month. Much be tater deal than a straight upgrade.
I think you’ll enjoy Poser Pro 2012, Tim. One of the major upgrades (sub-surface scattering) would be pointless with your workflow – you’d lose the waxy skin in postwaork. But the other – weight mapped rjoints – will make a big difference. You’re very good at creating natural poses, but this will take it to a new level.
If you get the free V4 weightmap upgrade (http://www.runtimedna.com/Weight-Mapped-V4/ ), all your character morphs will work as normal.
@elf I stand (or rather sit) corrected. Haven’t had to deal with Roman numerals since about third grade.
I didn’t think it made much sense at the time but I guess i should have paid more attention.
Kind of like learning number bases since I only ever use base 10, 2, 16 (and rarely 8).
About time the old gal got updated!
